Acid batteries: Batteries that require maintenance, being the most popular and common on the market. Within this type of batteries, we have two uses: (A) Starting (red), and for equipment or services, the main differences between these two types of batteries are that the starting ones allow up to 6 large discharges (cycles) and from this point they start to degrade the plates and the capacity progressively reduces. It is also important to always keep them with an adequate charge and not leave them idle for a long period. (B) Service (yellow), allow up to 600 discharges (cycles) so they are recommended for supplying equipment on the vessel without a charge (fridges, lights, etc.). Technology: Lead, acid with liquid electrolyte with Ca/Ca alloy, with caps for gas release. 70A, 680 starting intensity.
