Acid batteries: Batteries that require maintenance, being the most popular and most frequent in the market. Within this type of batteries, we have 2 uses: (A) Starting (red), and for equipment or services. The main differences between these two types of batteries are that starting batteries allow up to 6 large discharges (cycles) and from this point, plate degradation begins, and their capacity is progressively reduced. It's also important to keep them adequately charged and not leave them idle for long periods. (B) Service (yellow), they allow up to 600 discharges (cycles), so they are recommended for supplying equipment on the vessel without load (fridges, lights, etc.). Technology: Lead, acid with liquid electrolyte with Ca/Ca alloy, with vent caps for gas. 70A, 640 starting intensity.
