Mastervolt Charge Mate (6)
Charge Mate
The onboard systems typically consist of two or more batteries that operate independently when powering the 12 or 24 V appliances. These batteries require independent charging using reliable battery isolators or battery combination devices.
Mastervolt offers you various intelligent solutions:
- Battery isolating diodes that split your charging current with minimal energy loss.
- Charge Mate for connecting/disconnecting two batteries.
- Battery Watch for monitoring the condition of your batteries (can also be used as a main switch).
Secondary batteries are becoming increasingly common. Since a second battery can prevent the main battery from becoming so discharged that it can no longer start the vehicle, it seems like a safe and reliable solution. However, the secondary battery also needs to be charged regularly.
The Charge Mate series connects both batteries during charging and keeps them disconnected during discharge. The Charge Mate 1202 and Charge Mate 2502 are particularly suitable for small systems, while the Charge Mate Pro offers an additional feature: it limits the charging current to the second battery to 40 A or 90 A. This prioritizes charging the main battery. Furthermore, reverse current is automatically blocked. Power losses in the vehicle's electrical system are reduced. An emergency start function is enabled by connecting an optional bypass switch.
